CAPERS Sustainable Landscaping and New Student Mentor!!

CAPERS has welcomed several new volunteers to join the team this year. Subgroups have continued to work on Sustainable Landscaping, Stormwater Inlet Mapping, and, more recently, have begun to look into Fleet Management and Electrification strategies. As a testament to the groups dilligent work in the field of Sustainable Landscaping, the Municipality of Princeton recently approved an Ordinance which sets limitations on the operating windows of gas-powered leafblowers and various other lawn tools. An economic and social analysis put together by the CAPERS team over several months helped to influence the afforementioned Ordinance.

CAPERS would also like to express their utmost appreciation for Nicolas Choquette-Levy, who has been an exceptional mentor to the team for over a year. The team is excited to welcome Jordana Composto, who will be stepping in as the new CAPERS Graduate-Student mentor!

To get involved with CAPERS, join our team meetings on Zoom at 5:00pm on Tuesdays, or reach out to Khiara Berkowitz-Sklar by email khiarab@princeton.edu.
