On Saturday, September 15 from 8:30am to 4:30pm, policy leaders from across the state will convene at our very own Frist Campus Center for the inaugural NJ Climate Policy Stakeholder Forum.
Over 40 representatives from across NJ sectors will attend, including legislators like Assemblywoman Pinkin and Assemblyman Frieman; utilities like PSEG and South Jersey Gas; environmental groups like NRDC and the Sierra Club; regulatory agencies like the DEP; and businesses like electric vehicle manufacturers and car retailers. They will come to discuss their perspectives on concrete policies for New Jersey in the next 10 to 20 years to mitigate the consequences of climate change.
The forum will have 6 parallel topic discussions. Each “focus group” will be a roundtable including 7 stakeholders, with a select student audience.
Focus Groups: Transportation, Building Efficiency, Emissions Reductions, Solid Waste, Coastal Resiliency, and Economic Transition
(More info at tinyurl.com/nj-forum-topics).
We invite YOU to join the student audience (no background required!). This is a unique opportunity to witness firsthand what an environmental policy discussion among stakeholders looks like. Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments are covered. You will have the chance to speak to and network with stakeholders throughout the day. If you are interested, we would also love to work with you in translating the findings of this forum into action.
To RSVP or learn more, email nj.climate.summit@gmail.com with the name of the topic you are most interested in. The topics, with more detail, are listed at tinyurl.com/nj-forum-topics.
We hope to see you there!
